The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alm tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith throws a right and a left that Alm avoids nicely.
Alm is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Mathias Alm has been cut.
Smith's jab looks to have found its range, popping Alm under the eye.
Alm lands a lovely overhand right.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alm stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Alm throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith defending well as Alm loads up on a big left hand.
Smith misses with a hook. Alm ducked under it nicely.
Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alm stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Smith lands a right hook to the body.
A big left from Alm misses.
The fighters circling - Smith throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Alm uses good head movement to avoid it.

Alm ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Smith throws a lazy right hand but Alm sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Smith lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alm throws out the jab.

That has opened up Mathias Alm's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alm is rocked!
Smith connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Alm covering up! Smith comes in with a big uppercut and Alm goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
