PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakda SatraYuthakon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). SatraYuthakon has chosen Hard House Slut as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sakda SatraYuthakon!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
SatraYuthakon lands a head shot.
SatraYuthakon thuds a left hand into Lynch's body.
Danga de danga de dang - SatraYuthakon scores with a four punch combination!
Lynch throws a shot from downtown. SatraYuthakon moves away and avoids it.
A head kick misses from Lynch.
SatraYuthakon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
SatraYuthakon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lynch closes this distance looking for a takedown but SatraYuthakon circles away.
SatraYuthakon cracks Lynch with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lynch defending well as SatraYuthakon loads up on a big left hand.
Lynch does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
SatraYuthakon throws a right hand that Lynch ducks under and follows up with a left that Lynch also avoids with ease.
Good work by Lynch as he checks the leg kick.
Derek Lynch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
SatraYuthakon connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
SatraYuthakon fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
SatraYuthakon checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Lynch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in SatraYuthakon's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lynch stays in close to SatraYuthakon's body and controls the position.
SatraYuthakon controls Lynch momentarily but Lynch frees himself.

Lynch pushes down on SatraYuthakon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lynch controlling the action here.

Lynch is trying to work for a kimura but SatraYuthakon is defending well.
Lynch slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Derek Lynch has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
SatraYuthakon scores with a hook.

SatraYuthakon cracks a nice hook into Lynch's ribs.
Lynch shoots for a double leg takedown but SatraYuthakon sprawls well. He's pushed Lynch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lynch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lynch misses with a takedown attempt - SatraYuthakon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derek Lynch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
SatraYuthakon misses with a low kick as Lynch jumps back.

SatraYuthakon tests Lynch's chin there with a solid looking shot.
SatraYuthakon defending well as Lynch loads up on a big left hand.
Lynch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lynch takes a shot to the body in his stride.
SatraYuthakon checks a leg kick.
A big left from SatraYuthakon misses.
Lynch takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lynch chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Lynch drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lynch has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for SatraYuthakon!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

SatraYuthakon has left one of his arms exposed and Lynch doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. SatraYuthakon screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Derek Lynch!

In defeat, Sakda SatraYuthakon stepped up to the mic, saying 'Wasn't to be tonight.'.
