Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raimundo Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Villa Lobos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Villa Lobos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bom Senso - Seu Jorge (Tim Maia cover) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobral throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Villa Lobos counters with a single leg into guard. Sobral didn't expect that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Villa Lobos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Villa Lobos has his foot on Sobral's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sobral works his way back into a safe position though.

Villa Lobos bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Sobral working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Villa Lobos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Villa Lobos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sobral escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Villa Lobos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Villa Lobos has gone for a leg lock! Sobral slips out almost immediately though and dives into Villa Lobos's guard.
Sobral sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Villa Lobos's guard.
Villa Lobos is trying to get back to full guard.
Sobral maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Villa Lobos could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Sobral has cracked it and Villa Lobos is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Sobral!
