Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David McCain!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Duncan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McCain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Duncan postures up and lands a big shot to McCain's brow.
Duncan preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCain has his foot on Duncan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duncan works his way back into a safe position though.
McCain working a defensive guard here.
Duncan lands a couple of elbows.

Duncan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Duncan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Duncan stands up and waves to McCain to follow him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCain shoots in looking for a takedown but Duncan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McCain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Duncan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCain can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Duncan in side control lands a decent elbow.
Duncan is chipping away with strikes.
McCain takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
McCain is looking to reverse the position.
McCain is working to avoid the ground and pound but Duncan connects with a decent elbow.
Duncan scoring with punches from side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCain takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McCain wants to control but Duncan postures up.

Duncan is trying to get an arm triangle but McCain is defending well.
Duncan wants to control but McCain is keeping him busy.
Duncan lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
McCain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duncan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McCain is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duncan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Duncan is working to tighten his grip on McCain's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McCain has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Duncan is really squeezing tight and eventually McCain passes out! Duncan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Eddie Duncan!
