PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mio Talon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arvi Rausku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rausku has chosen Notkea Rotta - Taas Lähtee Taju as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mio Talon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 33 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Arvi Rausku!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rausku to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rausku accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Talon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rausku on the ground.

Rausku has gone for a leg lock! Talon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rausku's guard.
Talon trying to control the position from guard on top but Rausku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rausku is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Talon defends well.
Rausku seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Rausku has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Talon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Rausku is working for takedown but Talon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rausku tries to pull guard but Talon holds him up against the cage and eventually Rausku drops back down to his feet.
Rausku has Talon pressed against the cage, preventing Talon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Talon wants to get back to striking at distance but Rausku won't allow it.
Rausku goes for a takedown attempt but Talon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mio Talon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arvi Rausku.
Talon throws a right and a left that Rausku avoids nicely.

Rausku shoots in and gets a takedown into Talon's guard.
Rausku is looking to work some ground and pound but Talon has wrist control.
Rausku wants to pass the guard but Talon is keeping the position.
Talon is looking to stand up but Rausku isn't so interested in that idea.

Talon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Talon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Talon tries to get out of the position.

Rausku is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rausku thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Talon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Talon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Rausku works over Talon with some ground and pound from guard.

Rausku sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Talon's guard.

Rausku is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Rausku wants to work for an arm triangle but Talon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rausku throwing shots but Talon is blocking nicely.

Rausku is looking for a kimura here.
Rausku is keen to just control but Talon is a slippery customer.
Talon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rausku stops Talon from getting back to his feet.

Rausku is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Talon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rausku.
Rausku wants to lay and pray for a moment but Talon keeps working.
Rausku thows a huge punch but Talon dodges it nicely.
Talon is trying to control but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Talon trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Rausku manages to pass to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rausku working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arvi Rausku dominated that round.
That's time! Talon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Talon explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Rausku scores with a nice right hand.
No luck for Rausku with that takedown attempt.
Rausku goes for a double leg but Talon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Talon continues to drive forward.
Rausku wants a takedown.
Mio Talon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arvi Rausku.

Rausku jumps guard and drags Talon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Talon wants to control from the top but Rausku keeps moving.
Talon won't allow Rausku to get back to his feet.

Talon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Arvi Rausku has got the better of the ground game so far.

Talon is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rausku has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Talon is looking to defend but Rausku has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Talon! Rausku pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Talon taps out and this one is all over!
