PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chili Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bang Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du has chosen Unholy Confession as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper closes the distance and clinches up with Du, looking for a takedown. Pepper pushes Du against the cage but Du circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pepper shoots in looking for a takedown. Du tries to sprawl out of it but Pepper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Du manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bang Du seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pepper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Du swivels and escapes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Du has clasped his hands together around Pepper's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Du tries to move to mount but Pepper blocks the move with his legs.

Pepper takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Du scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Du feints and then cracks Pepper's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pepper down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Pepper. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Du lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Du shoots for a takedown but Pepper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pepper decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pepper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Du moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Chili Pepper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Du has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
