The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdermott thuds a left hand into Stryper's body.

Stryper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcdermott's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mcdermott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stryper manages to get himself to full guard.

Mcdermott is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stryper sees it coming and defends easily.

Mcdermott is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stryper is just riding it out for now. Mcdermott eventually gives up the hold.
