The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckley avoids a punch combination nicely.
Buckley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pickett circles away.
Pickett tries to close the distance and clinch but Buckley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dan Pickett hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Buckley jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pickett manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Buckley stands up and beckons Pickett to his feet.

Buckley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pickett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Buckley is landing with some decent strikes but Pickett is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Buckley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Buckley postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Pickett in real trouble here! The ref calls for Pickett to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
