PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Mmachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mmachi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get Hyper- Droideka- Get Hyper kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mmachi tries to clinch there but Moore circles away.
Mmachi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Marco Moore has been cut.
Mmachi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moore circles away quickly and effectively.
Moore takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Mmachi shoots in and gets a takedown into Moore's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mmachi throws a strike but Moore rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Moore is looking to stand up but Mmachi won't let him.
Mmachi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Moore.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mmachi is wriggling around but Moore manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moore is trying to work for a kimura but Mmachi is defending well.

Moore is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Moore is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mmachi sees it coming and defends easily.

Moore is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Moore is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Moore is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Mmachi to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Mmachi is pulling down on Moore's head to control his posture.
Moore postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Moore with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mmachi has a closed guard, preventing Moore from standing up.
Moore stands up over Mmachi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mmachi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Moore is controlling him.
Moore would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Moore decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Moore misses with a head kick.
Mmachi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mmachi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moore circles away quickly and effectively.

Moore forces Mmachi back against the cage and clinches.
Moore wants to break the clinch but can't.

Mmachi jumps guard.
Moore wants to get up but he can't break Mmachi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Moore throwing strikes but missing.
Moore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mmachi looks winded!

Mmachi has his foot on Moore's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moore works his way back into a safe position though.

Moore stands up and waves to Mmachi to follow him.
Mmachi tries to clinch but Moore moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Moore checks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marco Moore will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Moore dodges the punch combination from Mmachi.

Mmachi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Moore manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Moore looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mmachi puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Moore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Moore is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Mmachi stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Moore has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Mmachi manages to get his head free but now Moore has transitioned to an armbar! Mmachi grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Moore! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
