Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Yamaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Awesome Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Awesome Mac has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac fails with a takedown attempt.
Yamaguchi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hiro Yamaguchi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mac doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Yamaguchi counters by moving into the clinch.
Mac is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Yamaguchi is defending well.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Yamaguchi wants to stand and escape but instead Mac has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Yamaguchi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mac blocks a head kick by Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi works over Mac's head and body with a nice combination.
Mac throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mac takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Yamaguchi has closed the distance and engaged Mac in a clinch.
Mac is trying to drag Yamaguchi to the mat but Yamaguchi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mac turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mac manages to end up in side control.

Mac feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A less than humble Hiro Yamaguchi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
