Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darius Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Hennings!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hennings is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ellis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ellis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hennings sprawls well. Hennings wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet.
Hennings fails with a takedown attempt.
Hennings is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ellis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Darius Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Hennings.
Hennings closes the distance and clinches up with Ellis, looking for a takedown. Hennings pushes Ellis against the cage but Ellis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shane Hennings.
Ellis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Henningss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Hennings shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ellis defends it nicely.

Hennings feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ellis looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hennings advances to half guard.

Hennings seems to be working for a kimura but Ellis defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hennings wants to control but Ellis is keeping him busy.
Ellis pushes Hennings off looking to stand but Hennings dives back in and keeps control.

Ellis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hennings is working away from the top position though.

Hennings drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hennings wants to control but Ellis is keeping him busy.

Hennings advances nicely into full mount.
Hennings can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ellis is looking to escape.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hennings shoots in but Ellis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darius Ellis.
I think Ellis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
