Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis cracks Hicks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Dante Hicks has been cut.
Lewis lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lewis.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hicks moves out of range as Lewis throws a body kick.
Hicks fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lewis.
Lewis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hicks.
Hicks thuds his right hand into Lewis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hicks misses with an uppercut.
Lewis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Lewis.
Lewis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hicks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That has opened up Dante Hicks's cut even more.
Lewis attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

A clash of legs there as Hicks blocks the low kick.

Hicks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lewis.
Hicks on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lewis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hicks. That did some damage!

Hicks closes the distance and pushes Lewis back into the cage.
Hicks blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Lewis.
Lewis lands a body shot in the clinch.
Lewis misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lewis misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hicks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lewis gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hicks.

Lewis gets through Hicks's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Hicks is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lewis can't fight it off and eventually Hicks manages to take the fight to the floor. Lewis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hicks wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving.

Lewis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Hicks looking to pass the guard.
Lewis wants to stand and escape but Hicks is having none of it.
Lewis trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hicks trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hicks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lewis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hicks is able to avoid easily.
Hicks throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lewis lands with a nice body punch.
Lewis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

The cut above Dante Hicks's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Some wild striking there from Hicks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hicks lands a jab.
Lewis throws a looping overhand right but Hicks ducks down to avoid it.
Hicks throws a jab when Lewis was well out of range.

Lewis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Lewis connects with a nice looking jab.
Hicks moves away from the strike by Lewis.
Lewis delivers a nice body kick.
Hicks looks winded!
Lewis throws a sloppy head kick and Hicks moves out of range easily.
Lewis connects with a solid leg kick.
Lewis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hicks.
A telegraphed right hand from Hicks misses the target.
Nice uppercut lands for Lewis. That snapped Hicks's head back.
Hicks avoids a kick to the body.
Lewis throws a front kick aimed at Hicks's knee but Hicks avoids it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hicks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dante Hicks's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dante Hicks's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
