Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quane Duck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LJ Tibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LJ Tibbs is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quane Duck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, LJ Tibbs!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tibbs has a takedown stuffed.
Tibbs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duck swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Duck gets caught napping as Tibbs dives in and scores a takedown. Duck manages to retain guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Tibbs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tibbs decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Duck, up you get!

and Tibbs counters with a one-two to the body.
Tibbs moves in looking to clinch but Duck pushes him off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Duck enables Tibbs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Duck manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tibbs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duck is proving hard to escape from.
Tibbs's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Tibbs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Duck seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tibbs takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tibbs drives through with a takedown into Duck's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. LJ Tibbs wasn't active enough on the ground.

Tibbs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Duck quickly recovers to half guard.
Tibbs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Tibbs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. LJ Tibbs was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Duck tries to clinch there but Tibbs circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tibbs with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Tibbs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tibbs controls Duck momentarily but Duck frees himself.

Tibbs is trying to control Duck's posture but Duck avoids it.

Tibbs is looking for a sweep.
Tibbs is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Duck off and has taken his back!

Tibbs doesn't have the hooks in and Duck manages to turn into his guard.

Duck avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tibbs has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Duck is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Tibbs has hold of one of Duck's legs. Duck is fighting the takedown attempt but Tibbs gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
LJ Tibbs has got the better of the ground game so far.

Tibbs drops back looking for a leg! Duck is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Duck manages to kick Tibbs off! Tibbs jumps back into Duck's guard.

Tibbs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Tibbs feints and as Duck raises his hands in defense, Tibbs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tibbs decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LJ Tibbs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Tibbs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duck tries to clinch but Tibbs moves out of range.

Duck throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Tibbs shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tibbs showed some decent athleticism there.

Tibbs postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Duck is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tibbs, into his guard.
Tibbs has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tibbs wants to stand but Duck is controlling the position.

Tibbs controls Duck momentarily but Duck frees himself.

Tibbs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Duck defends well.

Duck wants to control from the top but Tibbs keeps moving.
Tibbs is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Duck is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tibbs shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Tibbs takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Duck is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tibbs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duck keeps working.
Tibbs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tibbs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duck's head.

Tibbs decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The fighters circling - Tibbs throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Duck wants to clinch.
Duck tries to clinch up.
Quane Duck has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
LJ Tibbs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

LJ Tibbs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tibbs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
