The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davisdon circles away quickly and effectively.
Davisdon throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease.

Diaz lands a left and a right that send Davisdon crashing to the mat, dazed. Diaz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Dave Davisdon has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davisdon is looking to clinch.
Davisdon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Diaz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Davisdon doesn't seem bothered though.
Diaz misses with a body kick.
Diaz throws a half hearted mid kick.

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Davisdon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Diaz wants to sweep here but Davisdon controlling him for the moment.
Diaz is controlling Davisdon's posture.

Davisdon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dave Davisdon.

Davisdon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Diaz!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davisdon stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Diaz is looking to clinch but Davisdon is avoiding it.

Davisdon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Davisdon controlling the pace.
Diaz is looking for a sweep. Davisdon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Davisdon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Davisdon throwing shots but Diaz is blocking nicely.
Diaz looks like he's trying to stand up.
Davisdon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Davisdon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Diaz to get to his feet.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Davisdon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Davisdon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Diaz napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Davisdon has an Americana. Diaz didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Davisdon is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Davisdon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Dave Davisdon got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
