The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pettis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Anderson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Anderson dodges the punch combination from Pettis.
Pettis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Anderson clinches with his opponent.
Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Pettis has him pressed against the cage.
Pettis tries to stall but Anderson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Anderson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Anderson is in Pettis's guard.
Anderson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Anderson throws a big right hand that misses.

Pettis wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Anderson has taken Pettis's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Pettis has been forced to tap!
