The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grushevky has his takedown stuffed
and Lucas counters with a nice body shot.
Lucas throws a sloppy head kick and Grushevky moves out of range easily.
Grushevky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lucas counters with a three punch combo that has Grushevky backing up. Grushevky nods at Lucas to acknowledge the strikes.

Genaro Lucas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valeriy Grushevky.

Grushevky should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Grushevky looks to land a combination but Lucas avoids it well.

Lucas pushes Grushevky up against the cage in a clinch.

Lucas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grushevky gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lucas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Lucas is looking to take a break and control but Grushevky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Grushevky takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Grushevky is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Lucas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grushevky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lucas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Grushevky sees it coming and defends easily.

Grushevky has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Lucas. Oh but Grushevky has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Lucas goes limp - he's gone! Grushevky jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
