Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dorian Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Callum Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Callum Finch!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petersen throws a head kick but Finch moves out of range.
Finch misses with a head kick.
Finch throws a body punch but Petersen moves out of range.

Petersen clinches.
Petersen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Finch is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Petersen to keep the fight standing.
Finch tries to circle away but Petersen has him pinned against the cage.
Finch tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Petersen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Finch throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Petersen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Petersen wants a takedown but no success here.
Finch tries to break the clinch but Petersen is controlling the position.

Petersen pulls guard successfully.
Finch would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Petersen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Callum Finch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Finch tries to bum rush Petersen with a series of wild strikes but Petersen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Finch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Petersen as he avoids it easily.
Dorian Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum Finch.
Finch tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Petersen drives through and clinches with Finch against the cage.
Finch jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Petersen walks away with a smile on his face. Finch gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Petersen works the jab nicely.
Petersen shoots in looking for a takedown. Finch tries to sprawl out of it but Petersen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Finch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Finch walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Petersen counters by moving into the clinch.

Finch has a couple of punches blocked by Petersen.
Petersen landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Finch tries to pull guard but Petersen holds him up against the cage and eventually Finch drops back down to his feet.

Petersen lands with a light punch inside.
Finch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Petersen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Petersen moves into the clinch.
Petersen blocks an uppercut.
Finch fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Petersen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Danga de danga de dang - Petersen scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Callum Finch has been cut.
Finch misses with a double jab.
Petersen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Finch pinned against the cage. Finch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Finch swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Petersen closes the distance and clinches.
Petersen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Finch's efforts to push away.
Finch is trying to force a seperation but Petersen has the dominant position.
Finch stops a takedown attempt from Petersen.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Petersen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Finch moves to clinch but Petersen breaks away

and Petersen counters by moving into the clinch.

Petersen pulls guard.
Petersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Finch's guard.
Petersen stays in close to Finch's body and controls the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Petersen stands up from Finch's guard - Petersen perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Finch darts in trying to clinch

and Petersen counters by moving into the clinch.

Petersen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Finch. No joy for Petersen on that attempt.
Finch shoots in for a double leg but Petersen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Finch misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Petersen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Finch wants to break the clinch but can't.
Petersen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Finch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Finch tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petersen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Finch walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Petersen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Finch dives in for a single leg takedown but Petersen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Petersen has Finch pressed against the cage, preventing Finch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Finch digs a good body shot into Petersen's ribs.
Finch closes the distance but Petersen moves to the side

and Petersen counters by moving into the clinch.
Finch swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Petersen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Finch gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Finch jumps guard but Petersen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Finch is trying desperately to land a takedown but Petersen is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Finch.
Finch closes the distance but Petersen moves to the side
and Petersen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Finch's knee momentarily.

Petersen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Finch.

Finch misses with a double jab.
No luck for Petersen with that takedown attempt.

Finch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petersen's waist but Petersen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Finch off to one side.
Finch shoots for a takedown but Petersen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Petersen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Finch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Petersen somewhat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
