Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kron Asenio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kron Asenio has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Joseph's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kron Asenio!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asenio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Joseph tries to avoid it but Asenio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Joseph to the ground. Joseph escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Joseph closes the distance and pushes Asenio back into the cage.

Joseph's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Asenio.

Asenio is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Joseph has escaped the position, nice work there.
Asenio tries to score with some ground and pound. Joseph controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Asenio shoots in looking for a takedown but Joseph manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Asenio's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Asenio drives through with a takedown into Joseph's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Asenio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Joseph manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Asenio has Joseph in his guard.

Asenio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joseph doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joseph manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Asenio is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Joseph frees his head nicely. Oh but Asenio has switched to an armbar! Joseph is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
