Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robby Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Braga!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braga darts in looking for a takedown but Avery gets double underhooks and turns Braga into the cage.
Braga drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Avery gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Braga wants to get back to striking at distance but Avery won't allow it.
Braga drops down looking for an ankle pick but Avery pulls his leg out and moves away.
Robby Avery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Braga.

Avery instigates a clinch.
Avery fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Avery gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Avery wants to stand up but Braga is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Braga has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Avery escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Avery!

Braga is trying to work for a sweep but Avery has mounted him!

Avery is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Braga can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Avery with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Avery really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Braga is desperately trying to improve his position but Avery has a good base and remains in mount.

Avery seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Braga for as long as he can get away with.

Braga's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Braga is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

BOOM! Avery connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Avery prevents Braga from getting the reversal.
Braga looks winded!
Braga tries to buck Avery off but he can't manage it.
Avery scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Avery lands with some strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Avery closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Braga's guard.

Braga had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Avery defends it easily.
Avery is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Braga looking for a sweep. Not yet Braga, not yet.
Avery is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Avery pushes down on Braga's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Avery landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Braga is looking for a sweep. Avery is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Avery passes the guard and advances to mount!
Braga is breathing heavily.

Avery has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Avery takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Avery is looking for the choke from the back position but Braga is controlling his hands well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
I really don't envy Braga right now.

Braga is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Braga is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Avery gets his way!
Avery has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Braga is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Avery lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Robby Avery overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Avery lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Avery scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Braga is looking for a way out.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Braga won't enjoy being in this position. Avery looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Braga is tapping - it's over boys! Avery picks up the submission victory!
