Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hilio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, AC/DC - Back In Black. The crowd seem to be enjoying Alvarez's choice of entrance music: Killa Sharks. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hilio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Gracie.
Gracie lands with a nice body punch.
Alvarez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gracie.
Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing.
Gracie misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie has been working on his boxing with his coaches at VENDETTA Elite Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Alvarez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alvarez was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie.
Alvarez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gracie leaves Alvarez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gracie misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alvarez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gracie wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Alvarez keeps moving and retains side control.

Gracie explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Gracie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alvarez's head backwards.
Gracie throws a right hand that Alvarez ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvarez also avoids with ease.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie throws a right and a left that Alvarez avoids nicely.
Gracie throws a right hand that Alvarez ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvarez also avoids with ease.
Alvarez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Alvarez persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie throws a shot from downtown. Alvarez moves away and avoids it.
Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing.
Gracie feints a jab promting Alvarez to slip. Gracie then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Alvarez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Alvarez fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Alvarez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Alvarez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gracie lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Gracie throws a head kick but Alvarez moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie throws a right and a left that Alvarez avoids nicely.
Gracie scores with a jab to the body.

Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alvarez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Alvarez's guard.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alvarez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alvarez has escaped and now he's on top!
Alvarez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gracie pushes a forearm under Alvarez's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Alvarez is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hilio Gracie!
An intense looking Hilio Gracie took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'whats up! can i be the next one in line for a shot at that title man! give me the winner of Cullen and Henderson im ready for my chance man! and plus that bling'n new belt would look good around my waist.'.
In defeat, Mike Alvarez stepped up to the mic, saying 'i just want to apologize to my fans for my performance today. Ummmmm Hilo was was the better fighter today "congrats to him and his team" and to my fans i promise i'll train harder and smarter and pull out that W in my next fight. GOD BLESS!'.
