Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee's entrance music is Game of Death. A fine choice. Bruce Lee is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Cox!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee scores with a punch to the head.
Cox darts in looking for a takedown but Lee gets double underhooks and turns Cox into the cage.
Lee missing with knees to the body.

Cox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cox shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cox's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lee misses with a leg kick.
Lee is looking to chop away at Cox's legs.
Cox takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bruce Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox swings for the body but Lee moves out of range.

Cox closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lee lands an elbow just above Cox 's eye.
I was talking to Lee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Lee lands a damaging elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee is pressed up against the cage. Cox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bruce Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Cox.
Lee fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cox checks it well.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cox.
Lee does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cox. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cox instigates a clinch.
Cox is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lee is defending well.
Lee lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cox has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lee avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Cox pulls guard.
Cox wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Cox is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cox has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there.

Cox tries to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cox holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cox wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee throwing strikes from guard but Cox blocks nicely.
Cox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cox is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Steve Cox will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A telegraphed right hand from Cox misses the target.

Cox takes the fight into the clinch.
Cox on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lee tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lee just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cox's brow.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cox.
Lee throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lee looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Lee is pressed up against the cage. Cox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lee throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lee tries a low kick but Cox avoids it.
Lee with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cox controlling from the top position.
Lee wants to sweep here but Cox controlling him for the moment.
Cox trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.

Cox postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.

Cox is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lee has escaped and now he's on top!

Cox has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though.
Cox is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lee throws a big right hand that misses.
Cox tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cox is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lee is aware though and is defending well.

Cox throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Cox has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Cox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bruce Lee just wasn't active enough.
Cox swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lee counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cox.
Lee smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Cox gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Cox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Lee throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Cox takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses.
Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cox. That did some damage!

Cox has managed to clinch.
Cox takes an elbow to the forehead.
Lee missing with knees to the body.
Cox is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lee to keep the fight standing.
Cox is pushing Lee up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Lee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cox blocks it with crossed arms.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee pushes off an throws an elbow but Cox leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Lee lands an elbow inside that Cox shrugs off.


It looks like Steve Cox has been cut.
Lee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cox blocks it with crossed arms.
Lee lands an elbow inside that Cox shrugs off.

Cox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Lee tries to land a leg kick but Cox saw it coming and moves away.
Lee scores with a leg kick.
Cox throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A jab lands there for Lee.
Cox checks a low kick from Lee.
Lee throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lee throws a leg kick but Cox sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Steve Cox is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cox rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage.
Cox blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Lee comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Lee misses with an elbow strike.
Lee lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Cox is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bruce Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lee lands a knee to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
