Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruise Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Stryker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mortal Kombat Theme. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruise Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carl Stryker!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stryker is looking to land body kicks.

Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into Stryker's guard.
Lee throwing strikes from guard but Stryker blocks nicely.
Lee stays in close to Stryker's body and controls the position.
Stryker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee.
Lee looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Stryker keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruise Lee wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Stryker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.
Lee is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Stryker stopping the sweep attempt from Lee.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lee wants to get back to his feet but Stryker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Bruise Lee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Lee lands a head kick. Stryker smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Carl Stryker has been cut.

Lee closes the distance and pushes Stryker back into the ropes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stryker ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stryker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Stryker keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Stryker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him.

Stryker is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Lee wants a takedown.

Lee gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Lee throwing strikes but missing.

Lee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lee wants to control from the top but Stryker keeps moving.

Lee wants to pass the guard but Stryker is keeping the position.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Stryker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stryker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee won't allow Stryker to sweep him here.
Lee content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Stryker has taken the fight to the clinch.

Stryker drags the fight down to the ground.
Lee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Stryker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stryker is proving hard to escape from.
Lee wants to control from the top but Stryker keeps moving.

Stryker is breathing heavily.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lee is pushing down on Stryker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stryker is fighting to maintain full guard but Lee has managed to sneak the leg through.

Lee looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Bruise Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stryker pushes Lee off but Lee dives into side control.
Lee misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Lee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stryker to his feet.

Stryker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lee sprawls well initially but Stryker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lee is looking to escape.
Lee trying to hold on to Stryker's head to control him but Stryker postures up.
Lee is looking for a sweep. Stryker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lee keeping hold of Stryker's head, controlling as best he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We're going to have a standup here because Bruise Lee wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Stryker takes the fight into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stryker defends well.

Lee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Stryker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stryker has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.
Lee has control of Stryker's left arm, preventing Stryker from doing any damage.
Stryker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Stryker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lee, up you get!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stryker stops Lee from getting back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Lee shoots for a double leg takedown but Stryker sprawls well. He's pushed Lee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stryker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stryker is in Lee's guard.

Stryker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Stryker wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carl Stryker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lee fails with the takedown.

Stryker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lee tries to improve position but can't.
Lee wants to control but Stryker postures up.
Lee manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stryker's best efforts.

Lee holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Bruise Lee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Stryker clinches with his opponent.

Stryker tightens his grip and picks Lee up, before dumping him to the ground. Lee manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bruise Lee.

Lee feints and as Stryker raises his hands in defense, Lee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stryker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lee controls the pace.
Stryker looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lee puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruise Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stryker moves into the clinch successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carl Stryker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bruise Lee.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
