PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Caffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Murosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Murosaki's choice of entrance music: Now We Are Free. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 2, fighting out of London, Victor Caffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Koji Murosaki!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murosaki drives through and clinches with Caffey against the cage.
Caffey tries to land knees in the clinch but Murosaki avoids the damage to the body.
Caffey is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Murosaki is defending well for now.
Caffey lands a knee to the body.
Caffey makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murosaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Murosaki's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Murosaki lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Murosaki lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Murosaki has Caffey flattened out and is raining down punches.
Well, with Murosaki on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Caffey is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
