Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donnell Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson has chosen The Prince as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as David Anderson enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurley wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance.
Anderson moves away from the strike by Hurley.
Hurley doesn't manage to clinch there - Anderson circles away.
Hurley fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hurley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Anderson wants the takedown. Hurley is fighting it off but Anderson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hurley's guard against the cage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Anderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hurley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

You can see the frustration on Hurley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hurley pushes Anderson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Anderson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Anderson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hurley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Anderson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hurley has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Anderson but great work by Hurley.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson is taking a breather. Hurley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
