Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Abra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roman Abra will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wyatt Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Abra!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abra darts in trying to clinch

and Tate moves into the clinch.
Tate blocks an elbow strike.

With the fighters up against the cage, Abra throws an elbow but misses.
Abra looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Tate gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tate controls from within his opponent's guard.
Abra wants to stand and escape but Tate is having none of it.

Tate is stalling in the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Wyatt Tate wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Abra closes the distance looking to clinch

and Tate counters with a takedown into side control.
Tate could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Abra is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Abra is trying to escape the position but Tate is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tate tries to move into full mount but can't pass Abra's legs.
Abra defending against the ground and pound.

Tate working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Tate decides to stand back up.
Roman Abra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Abra looks to clinch

and Tate counters with a single leg into guard. Abra didn't expect that.

Tate gets to his feet. Abra looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tate is in close to Abra's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tate keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Abra's head.
Abra looks winded!

Tate lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Tate stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Abra tries to clinch but Tate moves away

so Tate counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tate wants to pass the guard but Abra is keeping the position.
Tate controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Wyatt Tate just wasn't active enough.
Abra wants to clinch

and Tate counters by clinching up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abra throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Tate blocks an elbow strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Abra.
Tate jumps guard but Abra turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Tate lands a takedown into guard.

Tate decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Abra, up you get!

Abra moves to clinch but Tate breaks away

and Tate counters with a single leg into guard. Abra didn't expect that.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tate closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wyatt Tate dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Tate dives in and scores a takedown into Abra's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Wyatt Tate wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Abra gets tackled into the cage by Tate. Tate maintains the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Abra.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Abra just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tate's brow.
Abra throws an elbow but it misses.
Abra gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Wyatt Tate has been cut.

Tate manages to break the clinch.
Abra moves to clinch but Tate breaks away

so Tate counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tate showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Wyatt Tate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wyatt Tate wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Tate counters with a solid body kick.

and Tate holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Abra lands a damaging elbow.

Abra throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Tate avoids a wild elbow strike from Abra.
Tate avoids the elbow strike from Abra, against the cage.
Abra lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Abra throws an elbow but misses.

Abra is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tate is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Abra to the mat. Abra regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Abra wants to stand but Tate is controlling the position.
Abra is breathing heavily.

Tate thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tate sitting in guard, not really doing much.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Abra is looking to stand up but Tate isn't so interested in that idea.

Wyatt Tate has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Tate fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Abra sprawls well initially but Tate persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tate is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Abra can do to turn this around?
Tate is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wyatt Tate wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Tate circles away from the clinch attempt

and Tate counters with a shoot takedown. Abra fights it but they end up in guard.
Tate passes Abra's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tate seems to be working for a kimura but Abra defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Abra is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tate is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Abra to the mat. Abra regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Abra is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tate dives into side control.
Tate working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Tate tries to advance position but instead Abra slips a leg back in to half guard.

Tate seems to be working for a kimura but Abra defends the submission attempt.

Tate throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Abra pushes Tate off but Tate dives into side control.
Abra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tate controlling the position.
Tate tries to move into full mount but can't pass Abra's legs.
Tate is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Abra's shoulder. That is not cool.
Tate throws a strike aimed at the side of Abra's head but Abra avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tate cracks Abra with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ground and pound from Tate seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Tate in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Tate is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Abra will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Tate is working to tighten his grip on Abra's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Abra has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tate is really squeezing tight and eventually Abra passes out! Tate breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Wyatt Tate!
