The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mansurov blocks a head kick by Silva.
Silva throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Mansurov counters with a nice leg kick.
Silva throws a lazy head kick
and Mansurov counters with a left to the body.
Silva misses with a kick to the body.
A head kick by Silva misses
and Mansurov counters with a good low kick that Silva was not able to check.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mansurov.
Mansurov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Silva misses with a hook. Mansurov ducked under it nicely.
Silva misses with a double jab
and Mansurov counters with a left to the body.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Silva looks winded!
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mansurov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Silva's calf.
Silva throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mansurov counters with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mansurov throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mansurov lands a body shot.

Mansurov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mansurov is in Silva's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mansurov stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mansurov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mansurov drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Mansurov seems to have locked his on tight now - Silva screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Mansurov, as he picks up the win!
