The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darcy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Darcy scores with a body shot.
No joy there for Darcy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Thornton tries to keep at a distance but Darcy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Darcy trying to stall but Thornton improves his position.
Thornton really is a fat lump.
Darcy fails to pull guard.

Darcy successfully pulls guard.
Darcy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thornton's guard.
Darcy wants to pass the guard but Thornton is keeping the position.
Darcy wanted to stand there but Thornton had control of the position.
Darcy looking to sit in guard and control but Thornton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Darcy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thornton is one step ahead there.

Thornton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Darcy moves into the clinch.
Darcy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thornton.
Darcy scores with a shot to the side of Thornton's head.

Lucius Thornton's cut is getting worse.

Darcy tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Thornton wants to take the fight to the mat but Darcy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darcy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Darcy is on top in guard.
Darcy trying to control but Thornton is working from the bottom.

Thornton is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Darcy has his hands clasped together but Thornton extends and breaks Darcy's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Thornton.
