The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Silva Jr, as that shot connected.
Smith takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva Jr smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Anderson Silva Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva Jr lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Smith tries to keep at a distance but Silva Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Silva Jr keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Smith needs to keep his hands up - Silva Jr had a free shot at his head there.
Silva Jr is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Smith had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva Jr walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith gets tackled into the cage by Silva Jr. Silva Jr maintains the clinch.

Smith tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva Jr shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva Jr unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Smith! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Silva Jr is unloading with more strikes now! Smith drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Anderson Silva Jr spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
