Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pluto Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lex Logic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Palhares might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to TOQUINHO. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pluto Palhares!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lex Logic!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Logic lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palhares circles away quickly and effectively.
Logic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Logic throws a lazy right hand but Palhares sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Logic has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Palhares is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Logic takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Logic throws a low kick, looking for Palhares's leg but Palhares calmly moves out of range.
Logic looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Logic throws a sloppy head kick

and Palhares counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Palhares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Logic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Palhares wants to control from the top but Logic keeps moving.
Palhares chips away with some ground and pound.
Palhares trying to control but Logic is working from the bottom.
Logic seems keen to control Palhares's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Logic keeping moving, preventing Palhares from controlling successfully.
Palhares preventing the sweep.

Palhares thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Palhares forces his way into half guard.
Palhares missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Palhares is controlling the pace.

Palhares is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Logic won't allow Palhares to pass to mount.
Logic wants to control but Palhares is keeping busy.
Palhares looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Palhares is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Logic has hold of Palhares's hands but Palhares slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Logic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Palhares looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Logic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Palhares is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Palhares is trying to work for a kimura but Logic is defending well.
Logic is looking to improve his position.
Logic is trying to control but can't.
Logic blocking the ground and pound attempt from Palhares.
Palhares has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Palhares prevents Logic from improving his position.
Logic trying to control here.
Logic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Palhares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Palhares trying to control the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Palhares working Logic over with strikes.
Palhares is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Logic trying to control from the bottom.
Palhares wants to control but Logic is keeping him busy.
Palhares lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Palhares keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Logic is trying to stand.
Palhares has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pluto Palhares dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A head kick from Palhares lands but Logic takes it in his stride.
Palhares thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Logic if he has to take too many more of those.
Palhares thows a body shot but no joy.
Logic scores with a leg kick.
Logic with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Palhares to score with a decent uppercut.
Logic misses with a jab to the body

and Palhares counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Logic's guard now.
Palhares forces his way into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Logic is defending against the submission attempts here by Palhares.
Logic tries to get to full guard but Palhares has control of the leg.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Palhares here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palhares is controlling the pace.
Logic makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Logic.
Logic is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Palhares looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palhares connects with a couple of short punches.
Logic is trying to keep Palhares in close.
Logic is looking to stand up but Palhares isn't so interested in that idea.
Palhares pushes down on Logic's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Palhares is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Logic has managed to free his arm - good work.
Palhares is keen to just control but Logic is a slippery customer.
Pluto Palhares overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Logic is looking for a sweep. Palhares is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Logic pushes Palhares off looking to stand but Palhares dives back in and keeps control.
Logic is not content to let Palhares control the position.

Palhares maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Logic could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Palhares has cracked it and Logic is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Palhares!
