Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lyjoto Maskida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PJ Biro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maskida comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet For My Valentine - Tears Don't Fall. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Biro feints and as Maskida raises his hands in defense, Biro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maskida wants to sweep here but Biro controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maskida has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Biro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Biro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maskida doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Biro.

Biro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maskida swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Maskida is looking for a triangle but Biro pushes his legs off easily.

Maskida is breathing heavily.

Biro decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Maskida, up you get!

Biro fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Biro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Maskida.

Biro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maskida as he avoids it easily.
Lyjoto Maskida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of PJ Biro.
Biro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maskida pinned against the cage. Maskida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
PJ Biro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Biro closes the distance and clinches up with Maskida, looking for a takedown. Biro pushes Maskida against the cage but Maskida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Biro counters with a shoot takedown. Maskida fights it but they end up in guard.

Maskida escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Biro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Biro wants to control from the top but Maskida keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Biro is looking for a kimura but Maskida is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Biro to get the leverage.

Biro in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Maskida tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Biro!
