Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Carlton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gun comes into the arena with The Tommy Gun blaring out of the sound system. Tommy Gun could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Don Carlton's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Carlton takes the fight into the clinch.
Carlton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Carlton pulls guard successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Carlton wants to stand but Gun is controlling the position.
We've been hearing that Gun has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gun wanted to stand there but Carlton had control of the position.

Gun prevents Carlton from getting back to his feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Don Carlton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Carlton throws a leg kick that is checked

and Gun moves into the clinch.
Carlton is working for takedown but Gun is calmly controlling the position for now.

Carlton gets underhooks to prevent Gun's takedown attempt.

Carlton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Carlton manages to end up in side control.
Gun on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gun tries to get out of the position.
Carlton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gun keeps working.
The referee asks Carlton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Carlton prefers to stall for the moment though.

Carlton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gun sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carlton throwing shots but Gun is blocking nicely.
Carlton with the ground and pound but Gun uses the opportunity to regain guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Gun holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Carlton has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gun clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Carlton is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Gun is defending well though. Carlton let's go of the attempt for now.

Carlton is striking well from the back but Gun escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Carlton is just content to waste time from the top position. Gun takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Carlton has gone for a leg lock! Gun slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carlton's guard.

Carlton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gun is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Don Carlton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Gun counters with a good, hard body kick but Carlton shrugs it off.
Gun defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carlton.
Carlton throws a combination that misses

and Gun holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Carlton stops a takedown attempt from Gun.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gun has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carlton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Carlton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Gun's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Carlton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gun's waist but Gun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlton off to one side.
A low kick from Carlton is predictable there
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Carlton shoots in but no luck this time.
Carlton misses with a right hand
and Gun counters with a thumping low kick.
Carlton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gun swivels and escapes.
Tommy Gun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Carlton.
Carlton is looking to clinch.

Carlton tries to close the distance and clinch but Gun swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gun keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tommy Gun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carlton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gun counters with a good low kick that Carlton was not able to check.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Carlton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gun, pushing him back against the cage.
Carlton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gun pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carlton throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Gun counters with a nice low kick that buckles Carlton's knee momentarily.
Carlton is looking to chop away at Gun's legs.
Carlton is looking to clinch.
Don Carlton is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Carlton throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Gun counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Gun makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Carlton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tommy Gun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Carlton shoots in for a takedown but Gun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Don Carlton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carlton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
