PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walter Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Semin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bishop kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is teenagers. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Semin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Bishop rushes Semin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bishop gets through Semin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Bishop has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Semin regains guard immediately.
Bishop lands a couple of digs.
Bishop wants to pass the guard but Semin is keeping the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Semin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bishop is standing up over Semin. Semin looks to escape but Bishop dives into side control.
Bishop remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Semin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bishop is looking to take a break and control but Semin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bishop lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Semin down.
Bishop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Semin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bishop.

Bishop has an Americana. Semin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bishop is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bishop hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
