Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amos Kelley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pettis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fixing a Broken Heart-A1. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Amos Kelley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis gets a double leg takedown into Kelley's guard.
Kelley trying to keep a closed guard but Pettis is proving a slippery customer.
Pettis tries to stand but Kelley is controlling from the bottom.

Kelley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pettis is aware though and is defending well.

Pettis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kelley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pettis, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pettis controls Kelley momentarily but Kelley frees himself.

Pettis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kelley is one step ahead there.

Amos Kelley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kelley scores with a head kick. Pettis tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Pettis shoots for a takedown but Kelley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kelley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pettis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kelley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pettis wants to stand and escape but Kelley is having none of it.
Kelley's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Pettis is trying to keep Kelley in close.

Kelley gets to his feet. Pettis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kelley shoots in for a double leg but Pettis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kelley fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pettis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kelley's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pettis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pettis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Pettis trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pettis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kelley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pettis wants to get back to his feet but Kelley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Amos Kelley will probably get the nod.

Pettis has Kelley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pettis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kelley tumbling to the mat - Pettis dives into Kelley's guard.

Kelley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pettis manages to get himself to full guard.

Pettis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kelley stacks Pettis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kelley!
Kelley remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kelley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kelley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pettis to his feet.
Pettis is looking to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Amos Kelley will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Pettis shoots in looking for a takedown but Kelley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pettis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kelley throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pettis on the side of the head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kelley is on top in guard.

Kelley decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Pettis fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pettis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kelley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pettis tries for a takedown but Kelley circles away easily
and Kelley counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kelley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pettis shoots in looking for a takedown. Kelley tries to sprawl out of it but Pettis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kelley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kelley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pettis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A head kick from Kelley lands but Pettis takes it in his stride.
Kelley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pettis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kelley somewhat.
Pettis lands a nice looking body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kelley is defended easily by Pettis.

Pettis darts in and clinches Kelley up against the cage.
Kelley is looking to break free of the clinch but Pettis has double underhooks.

Kelley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pettis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kelley to the mat. Kelley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Pettis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kelley is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kelley has escaped and now he's on top!
Kelley stands and throws Pettis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Amos Kelley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pettis is looking to regain half guard here but Kelley keeps moving and retains side control.

Well Kelley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
