Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Menezes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan Menezes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Menezes!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stout works Menezes's body with a nice hook.
Menezes moves to clinch but Stout breaks away
and Stout counters with a nice kick to the body.
Stout swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bryan Menezes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stout gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Menezes is trying to break the clinch but Stout has him pressed against the cage.
Stout throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Stout pulls Menezes into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Stout is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Menezes defends well.

Menezes tries to lock up and control but Stout gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stout breaks from Menezes's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Menezes told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Stout postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Menezes looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Menezes can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stout misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Stout takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Stout's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stout changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Menezes tries to avoid it but Stout manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Menezes to the ground. Menezes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Menezes wants to clinch up but Stout keeps it at a distance.
Stout tries for a takedown but Menezes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Stout shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Menezes sprawls well. Menezes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stout gets slowly back to his feet.

Menezes throws a nice looking combination but Stout bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Menezes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stout tries for a takedown but Menezes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Menezes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Stout counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Menezes feints a jab promting Stout to slip. Menezes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stout slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Sam Stout has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stout showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Menezes.
Stout throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Menezes's waist but Menezes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stout off to one side.

Menezes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Menezes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stout counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Stout cracks the inside of Menezes's front leg.
Stout shoots in for a takedown but Menezes shows good takedown defense.
Menezes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stout counters with a flying knee. Nice.


Menezes is rocked!
Stout gets in close and tags Menezes with a short punch that almost sends Menezes to the mat! Oh Menezes is in big trouble! He turns his back on Stout, trying to create some distance but Stout rushes him, striking wildly and Menezes goes down! The referee tackles Stout into the cage to end the fight! Stout is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Stout!
