Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angelo Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles tries to clinch up.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marcus Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Charles wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones thows a leg kick but Charles checks it
and Charles counters with a nice body shot.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Charles. Charles maintains the clinch.
Jones tries to pull guard but Charles forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Charles's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Charles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Charles gets slowly back to his feet.

Charles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Charles with a flurry of punches that miss.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Charles pushes his legs off easily.
Charles keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Charles gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Charles manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jones on his heels. He'll look to pass Jones's guard now, I'm sure.

Jones is working an open guard so Charles takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Charles is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charles prevents the takedown attempt.

Charles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jones tries to keep at a distance but Charles has taken the fight into the clinch.
Charles is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Jones gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jones prevents Charles from improving his position.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Charles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Charles makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Charles's waist but Charles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Charles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Charles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Charles stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Charles feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Charles then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Charles wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Charles manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Charles closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Charles looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Charles is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Charles cracks Jones with a solid left hand.

Charles stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
Jones misses with a body kick.
Charles goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Charles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Charles gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Charles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones tries to land a body kick
and Charles counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Charles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
