PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Noel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremiah Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Noel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremiah Walker!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Walker but Walker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jeremiah Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Noel sprawls well initially but Walker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Walker slips a nice elbow through Noel's hands, connecting with Noel's forehead.
Noel on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Noel gets full guard.
Walker is looking to work some ground and pound but Noel has wrist control.
Noel pulls Walker in to control the position.
Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Noel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Noel trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walker wants to sweep but no luck.
Noel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Walker's head.
Noel controls from within his opponent's guard.
Walker thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Noel wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving.
Noel wanted to stand there but Walker had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Daniel Noel has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Walker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Noel did well to prevent Walker getting side control.
Noel manages to get to full guard.
Noel is trying to control the position but Walker postures up.
Walker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Noel looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Walker throws a big elbow that misses.
Noel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Noel wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Walker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Noel is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Noel is trying to control but can't.
Walker landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Noel trying to control from the bottom.
Walker lands strikes from half guard.
Walker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Walker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Walker lands a nice short elbow.


Noel is rocked!
Noel has hold of Walker's hands but Walker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Oh Noel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Walker lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Noel! More strikes land and this one is all over! Walker jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeremiah Walker!
