The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Cortez throws a left and a right that both miss

and Legs Iv counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Legs Iv looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Cortez working for a triangle but Legs Iv defends it easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Legs Iv's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Cortez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Legs Iv doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Legs Iv manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cortez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Legs Iv is in close to Cortez's body, working some short punches and elbows.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Legs Iv postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Cortez covers up, he's hurt! Legs Iv keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Legs Iv and the ref steps in to end the fight! Legs Iv can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
