PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Herring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Bogart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bogart is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by "Dutch National Anthem" by Het Wilhelmus. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Bogart misses with a takedown attempt
and Herring counters with a body kick that stops Bogart in his tracks momentarily.

and Herring counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Herring closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bogart did well to prevent Herring getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Herring seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bogart does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close round but I would say that Esteban Herring will probably get the nod.

Herring gets tackled into the cage by Bogart. Bogart maintains the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Herring has hold of one of Bogart's legs. Bogart is fighting the takedown attempt but Herring gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herring jumps guard but Bogart turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
