Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jae Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gotham Weider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jae Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gotham Weider!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos throws a head kick but Weider moves out of range.
A lazy body kick from Santos

and Weider counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Santos is trying to get back to full guard.
Weider wants to free his trapped foot but Santos is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Weider throwing shots but Santos is blocking nicely.
Santos blocking the ground and pound attempt from Weider.
Weider missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Santos is refusing to be controlled, as Weider sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos is doing well to control the position and prevent Weider from advancing to side control.

Weider is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer.
Santos tries to roll over but Weider keeps him under control.
Weider is looking to take a break and control but Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gotham Weider hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Santos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Weider swivels and escapes.
Santos moves in looking to clinch but Weider pushes him off.
Santos dives in and grabs Weider's left leg, looking for a takedown. Weider pushes down on Santos's head and hops out.
Weider keeps the fight on the outside.

Santos throws a right and a left that both miss.
Santos tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Weider counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Santos thinking.
Santos tries to clinch but Weider moves out of range.
Jae Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos moves to clinch but Weider breaks away

and Weider counters by moving into the clinch.
Santos tries to break the clinch but Weider is controlling the position.

Weider has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Santos regains guard immediately.
Weider controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Weider throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Santos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Weider wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.
Weider working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Santos seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Weider shoots in for a double leg but Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Santos is defended easily by Weider.

Weider decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Weider seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Weider is looking for a kimura here.
Weider is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weider is just content to waste time from the top position. Santos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Weider is breathing heavily.

Weider wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.
Weider looking to sit in guard and control but Santos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Santos tries to stand but Weider is controlling from the bottom.

Santos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Santos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Santos throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Santos fails to land the takedown.
Santos throws the kick towards the body but Weider avoids it.

Santos misses with a head kick.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Weider paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Weider keeps the fight on the outside.

and Weider moves into the clinch.
Santos prevents a takedown attempt there.
Santos wants to break free but Weider has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jae Santos will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Weider tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Santos just stands there and leans against the cage.
Santos wants a takedown but no success here.
Weider goes for a takedown attempt but Santos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jae Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gotham Weider.
Santos throws a body punch but Weider moves out of range.
Weider takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Santos tries to clinch up.
Santos scores with a head kick. Weider tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Weider avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Santos connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Santos does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Santos tries a head kick but it misses.
Santos misses with a body kick.

Santos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Santos closes the distance and clinches.
Weider tries to pull guard but Santos won't allow it.
Weider is trying to drag Santos to the mat but Santos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Weider can't get the takedown.
Santos is trying to break free.

Santos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Santos moves in looking to clinch but Weider pushes him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Santos tries to clinch but Weider is having none of it.
Weider avoids the head kick by Santos.

Weider has managed to clinch.
Weider prevents a body shot from Santos.
Santos is looking to break free of the clinch but Weider has double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Santos's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Santos displaying some good clinch control by pressing Weider up against the cage.
Weider is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Santos to keep the fight standing.
