The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzado avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pep throws a hook to the side of Alzado's head but Alzado sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A shot to de liver by Alzado. Beautiful body shot.
Alzado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pep throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alzado shoots in for a takedown but Pep shows good takedown defense.
Pep looks to land a combination but Alzado avoids it well.
Pep scores with a sloppy right hand. Alzado should have avoided that one.

It looks like Lyle Alzado has been cut.
Frankie Pep seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pep misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pep will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alzado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alzado showed some decent athleticism there.
Pep won't allow Alzado to pass to mount.

Pep tries to get to full guard but Alzado has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Alzado shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pep has left one of his arms exposed and Alzado doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Pep screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
