Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tristan Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Santana!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coffey moves into range and clinches up with Santana.
Santana is looking to control Coffey's arms but Coffey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Santana has his back to the cage.
Santana gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Coffey.

Coffey jumps guard and drags Santana to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Santana wants to control from the top but Coffey keeps moving.
Santana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coffey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coffey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Coffey wants to stand but Santana is controlling the position.
Coffey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santana on the ground.

Santana tries to close the distance and clinch but Coffey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Coffey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Santana is just riding it out for now. Coffey eventually gives up the hold.

Well, if Coffey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Coffey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santana swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Tristan Coffey wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tristan Coffey will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Santana closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santana wants to stand up but Coffey is controlling the position.
Santana not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Santana thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Julio Santana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Santana has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
