PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Break (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sahey Ignatyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Break comes to the cage accompanied by Slippin. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Break!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sahey Ignatyev!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ignatyev turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Break shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ignatyev sprawls well. Ignatyev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Break gets slowly back to his feet.
Ignatyev keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Break tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ignatyev swivels and escapes.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Break working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Crunch! Ignatyev slams his shin into Break's torso.
Ignatyev feints and then cracks Break's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Break down.

Break shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ignatyev as he jumps to the side.
Ignatyev misses with a hook. Break ducked under it nicely.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ignatyev.
Sahey Ignatyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Break takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ignatyev, right into the meat.

and Break counters with a shoot takedown. Ignatyev fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ignatyev wants to get back to his feet but Break is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ignatyev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Break shoots in looking for a takedown. Ignatyev tries to sprawl out of it but Break keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ignatyev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Break throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Break is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jack Break is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Break's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ignatyev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Break scrambles back to his feet.

Ignatyev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Break has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ignatyev has managed to get both his arms back between Break's legs - danger averted.

A very excited looking Sahey Ignatyev rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
