Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yanko Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Douglas acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yanko Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Douglas circles away quickly and effectively.
Beast throws a series of punches but Douglas avoids them all with ease.
Douglas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beast avoids it really well and circles away.
Beast ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Beast misses with a few strikes there.
Beast tries to clinch up but Douglas circles away and keeps his distance.
Beast tries to clinch but Douglas is having none of it.
Beast swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Douglas shoots in and bounces Beast off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Douglas postures up in Beast's guard and throws a big left but Beast blocks it.
Douglas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beast works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Douglas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Douglas stops Beast from standing up.
Douglas engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Douglas works over Beast with some ground and pound from guard.
Beast is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Douglas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Douglas passes Beast's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Beast is breathing heavily.
Beast is trying to stand up here but Douglas is controlling him well.
Douglas content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Beast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Douglas on the ground.
Douglas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Douglas landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Douglas looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Beast pushes Douglas off looking to stand but Douglas dives back in and keeps control.
Douglas works his foot free and advances to mount.

Douglas lands a couple of good shots and Beast has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Douglas just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like Douglas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Douglas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Douglas wants to free his trapped foot but Beast is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beast is looking to escape.
Beast is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Douglas scores with a couple of nice shots.
Douglas is taking a breather. Beast says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nice strikes from Douglas there.

Douglas prevents Beast from standing back up.
Douglas is pressing down on Beast's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beast is holding on for now.
Beast tries to kick Douglas off but Douglas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Douglas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Well, if Douglas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Beast tries to kick Douglas off but Douglas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Douglas takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Douglas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Douglas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Douglas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Douglas works his way into side control.
Beast wants to get back to his feet.

Beast trying to remain calm as Douglas controls from the top position.
Beast gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Douglas lands a heavy elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Douglas is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Beast has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Douglas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


No luck for Douglas with that takedown attempt.
Beast feints a jab promting Douglas to slip. Beast then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Douglas slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like John Douglas has been cut.
Douglas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beast.

Beast wants to stand up but Douglas is controlling him.

I've got Douglas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
