Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Makoto Shibasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shibasaki comes to the cage accompanied by Genki Sudo - 'Mind Shift'. Bashor has chosen Monster by Skillet as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Makoto Shibasaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Bashor!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashor throws a lazy body kick
and Shibasaki counters with a low kick, right behind Bashor 's knee.

Shibasaki drives through with a takedown into Bashor's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Shibasaki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bashor's guard.

Bashor is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shibasaki presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Shibasaki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bashor has picked Shibasaki up and slammed him! Shibasaki can't keep hold of the triangle and Bashor manages to pass to side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shibasaki tries to buck Bashor off but Bashor is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Makoto Shibasaki will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

That was a close second round but I would say that Makoto Shibasaki will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shibasaki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
