PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Just Do It (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen Dr. FeelGood as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do It misses with a series of wild punches.
Griffin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Do It looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Do It swinging wildly here.
Do It throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Griffin lands with a shot to the body.
Just Do It seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Do It is breathing heavily.
Do It swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Griffin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Do It moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Griffin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Do It's half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Griffin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Do It with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Do It might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Griffin lands a nice short elbow.

This has been an exciting period of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Griffin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Griffin lands in his opponent's guard.

Do It uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffin has time to react.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oh Do It is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Griffin is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Do It is hurt! He's hurt bad - Griffin fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Do It from any more punishment! Congratulations to Griffin! Great finish!
