The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuyama throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Matsuyama throws the kick towards the body but Lilburne avoids it.
Lilburne is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matsuyama.
Lilburne throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lilburne throws a low kick, looking for Matsuyama's leg but Matsuyama calmly moves out of range.
Matsuyama has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lilburne is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Lilburne tries to clinch up but Matsuyama circles away and keeps his distance.

I was talking to Lilburne's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Matsuyama fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lilburne looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Matsuyama.
Lilburne throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Matsuyama thuds a left hand into Lilburne's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Matsuyama engages and cracks Lilburne with a massive lead left hook - Lilburne tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Matsuyama is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
