The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch up but Coulson circles away and keeps his distance.
Coulson keeps the fight on the outside.
Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Coulson does no damage.
Coulson shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Coulson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Coulson circles away.

Coulson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Coulson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Jones controlling the position for now.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Coulson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coulson on the ground.

Coulson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coulson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Coulson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Coulson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
