PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Stehling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stehling comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Turmion Kätilöt - Minä MÄÄRÄÄN! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 54 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mitchell Stehling!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stehling on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Powers just misses with a punch to the body.
Stehling tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Powers defends well and Stehling ends up having to push Powers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Powers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Stehling tries to work over Powers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Stehling struggles to land a body shot inside as Powers controls his hands.
Stehling throws a punch but it's blocked by Powers.

Powers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stehling moves out of range as Powers throws a body kick.
Powers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stehling takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big right from Powers misses.
A head kick from Powers lands but Stehling takes it in his stride.
Stehling takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Stehling takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Powers misses the shot to the body.

Stehling feints and as Powers raises his hands in defense, Stehling changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Powers keeping moving, preventing Stehling from controlling successfully.
Powers has Stehling pulled in close to control his posture.

Stehling is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mitchell Stehling.
Good leg kick by Powers there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Powers walks into a straight right hand from Stehling.
Powers cracks Stehling with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Powers looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Powers lands a big head kick that sends Stehling tumbling to the mat! Powers takes a step backwards and waves Stehling back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Stehling bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Powers's head backwards.
Stehling takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stehling walks into a straight right hand from Powers.
An inside leg kick lands from Powers.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Look low, kick high! Powers uses the oldest trick in the book to send Stehling tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Powers is absolutely delighted - when Stehling wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
