Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark DeLeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Carlyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark DeLeon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Carlyon!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlyon throws a sloppy head kick and DeLeon moves out of range easily.
DeLeon is looking to clinch.
Carlyon looks for a takedown but DeLeon sprawls well.
Carlyon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but DeLeon defends well and Carlyon ends up having to push DeLeon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Carlyon is working for takedown but DeLeon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mark DeLeon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Carlyon.
Carlyon lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
DeLeon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Carlyon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
DeLeon shoots for a double leg takedown but Carlyon sprawls well. He's pushed DeLeon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carlyon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DeLeon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Horrible takedown by DeLeon or perhaps it was just good defense by Carlyon which made him look bad.
DeLeon shoots in looking for a takedown. Carlyon tries to sprawl out of it but DeLeon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carlyon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
DeLeon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

DeLeon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carlyon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carlyon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. DeLeon tries to avoid it but Carlyon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag DeLeon to the ground. DeLeon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carlyon is trying hard to land a takedown here. DeLeon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

DeLeon wants to clinch.
DeLeon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carlyon sprawls well. Carlyon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. DeLeon gets slowly back to his feet.

and Carlyon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carlyon.
DeLeon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

DeLeon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carlyon walks away with a smile on his face. DeLeon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carlyon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carlyon takes the fight into the clinch.
DeLeon is trying to force a seperation but Carlyon has the dominant position.
A short body shot lands from Carlyon as the two fighters clinch.
Carlyon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Carlyon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Carlyon keeping moving, preventing DeLeon from controlling successfully.
DeLeon advances position into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carlyon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carlyon is looking for a sweep.

DeLeon scoring with punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlyon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Carlyon pushes DeLeon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, DeLeon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Carlyon tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
DeLeon tries to control but Carlyon wriggling away.

Carlyon wants to hold on but DeLeon pushes him away.
Carlyon gets back to half guard.
DeLeon trying to control the action but Carlyon is working from the bottom.
DeLeon tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Carlyon.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlyon wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luke Carlyon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


DeLeon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carlyon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carlyon throws a right hand that DeLeon ducks under and follows up with a left that DeLeon also avoids with ease.
Carlyon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but DeLeon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carlyon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. DeLeon defends it nicely.
Carlyon shoots in but no luck this time.
DeLeon tries to clinch but Carlyon moves away

and Carlyon moves into the clinch.
Carlyon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. DeLeon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mark DeLeon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Carlyon.

DeLeon is trying to control the position but Carlyon postures up.
Carlyon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Carlyon tries to free his leg and advance position but DeLeon is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlyon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Carlyon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DeLeon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Luke Carlyon wasn't active enough on the ground.

Carlyon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. DeLeon tries to avoid it but Carlyon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag DeLeon to the ground. DeLeon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
DeLeon misses with a jab, cross combination.
DeLeon dives in for a single leg takedown but Carlyon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Carlyon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from DeLeon.
DeLeon slips a jab and a cross from Carlyon.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeLeon scores with a head kick.
Carlyon tries to score a power double leg takedown but DeLeon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carlyon somewhat.
Carlyon takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
DeLeon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carlyon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Carlyon misses with the combination.
DeLeon tries for a takedown but Carlyon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Carlyon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
DeLeon throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carlyon.

DeLeon wants to clinch.
Carlyon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DeLeon as he avoids it easily.
DeLeon fails to land the takedown.
Carlyon looks to land a left hand but DeLeon moved out of range nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeLeon shoots in for a takedown but Carlyon shows good takedown defense.

Carlyon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carlyon showed some decent athleticism there.

DeLeon kicks off Carlyon and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Luke Carlyon will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


DeLeon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

DeLeon gets tackled into the cage by Carlyon. Carlyon maintains the clinch.

Carlyon manages to break the clinch.
DeLeon walks forward, straight into a front kick from Carlyon.
DeLeon darts in looking for a takedown but Carlyon gets double underhooks and turns DeLeon into the cage.

Carlyon has clasped his hands together around DeLeon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Carlyon just content to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carlyon tries to stand but DeLeon controls the position and pulls Carlyon into his guard.
Carlyon is in close to DeLeon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Carlyon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Carlyon chips away with some ground and pound.
DeLeon wants to sweep but no luck.
DeLeon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carlyon advances position into side control!
Luke Carlyon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Carlyon is staying tight to DeLeon's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Carlyon lands some shots froms side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carlyon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Carlyon is staying tight to DeLeon's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Carlyon wants to stand but DeLeon is controlling his arm.
Carlyon moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Check out the look on Carlyon's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
DeLeon wants to get back to his feet but Carlyon drags him back down.

Carlyon decides to stand back up. Carlyon steps back and let's DeLeon get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Carlyon or perhaps it was just good defense by DeLeon which made him look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from DeLeon.
Mark DeLeon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark DeLeon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeLeon turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke Carlyon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Carlyon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
