Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheng Chung Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sheng Chung Lin!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lin.
Cruz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lin. Lin obviously looking to wear him down.
Cruz closes the distance but Lin moves to the side
and Lin counters with a nice kick to the body.
Cruz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lin scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like Ernesto Cruz has been cut.
Lin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Cruz tries to clinch there but Lin circles away.

Cruz moves into the clinch successfully.

Cruz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lin regains guard.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between Lin's legs - danger averted.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sheng Chung Lin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cruz is looking to clinch.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lin as he avoids it easily.
Sheng Chung Lin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cruz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lin was well out of range. Poor timing from Cruz.

Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Lin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cruz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Lin tries to throw a body punch but Cruz avoids it by throwing Lin back against the cage.
Cruz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cruz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cruz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ernesto Cruz will probably get the nod.

Lin feints and then cracks Cruz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cruz down.
Lin throws a lazy right hand but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

letting Lin counter with a right hand.
Lin slaps away a takedown attempt from Cruz, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Cruz rushes Lin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cruz tries to land knees in the clinch but Lin avoids the damage to the body.

Lin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cruz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Cruz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cruz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Lin is pressed up against the cage. Cruz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lin down to the mat. Lin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cruz moves away from the strike by Lin.
Cruz misses with a few strikes there.
Cruz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Lin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cruz sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sheng Chung Lin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
